I'm in the "Plug-In Selection" section and have set it to "Visual Studio Team Foundation Server". If you create a new Visual Studio project and store it in the mappedįolder, it will automatically be bound to TFVC as well. from that repo click the "open in VS" link and it will open Visual Studio and setup the repository for you. You can also start from VSTS/TFS an create a repo in the Code Hub. Afterwards if you create a new project it will default to TFVC. You can change this by going into Tools -> Options -> Source Control and selecting the TFVC provider to be the currently selected To make it easier for people who are set to a single Repository Type, Visual Studio only asks once and stores that setting. How do I get the project set up the way I know how to work with it?! I do not have a month or more to spend on learning git with VS 2017/VSTS, so please help me to do what I like to do so I can get on with development rather than administration/maintenance. Just like a virus, then I got back into VS 2017 and the picosecond I opened the project instantly Git isīack. nuget folder (I don't know if this is necessary or not, but that's what I've done). So, how do I get rid of Git for this project? Its just Git or you know where you can go!
Of course VS 2017 didn't even bother to give me a chance to select the team project I've created in VSTS. Next I got into a project I've started in VS 2017 which I now want to get under source control. I Got into VSTS, created a new team project, specified to use TFVC and thought I was all set. Sometime when I've got a few days to spend learning Git, that will be fine, but for now sidelining me into a source control system I don't know and making it impossible for me to get what I I never see a chance to change this at all I think that really pisses me off is VS 2017 insisting that any and every new project I start must be in Git. I have only an hour, at most, to work on my own projects during a week.
